Mate Is For Everyone

This photo was taken on Sierra de los Padres, Buenos Aires, Argentina. We got there with my family to enjoy the holiday, and we drank mate.

Mate, for those who don't know, is a traditional drink in some parts of South America.

This is my brother, who is 7 years old.

I don't know much about photography, and this photo was taken in a way that the sun hit my screen ( and I don't have a viewfinder D: ) so it's not really good, but I wasn't in the mood when the actual celebration happened.

Usually we have dinner the 31st at night, and drink champagne at 00:00 on the 1st.

Happy New Year!

Luckily it's summer here xD.
It's a quite bitter drink, depending on the yerba (a yerba mate plant cut in pieces and dried) you use. You can add sugar though, but it looses the taste easily (what's called a mate lavado, which means something like "washed out mate").
Since it's an answer, I'll qualify the page as rated by the above user xD.

Looks like it is warm and sunny on your new years day. Freezing where I am (Koln, Germany)!

What's the drink taste like? I have not heard of it before.
