Snow on the Marsh

Happy New Year from Belleville, Ontario to Darrell and fellow submitters!
My husband and I visited Presqu'ile Provincial Park on the shores of Lake Ontario today to see what was happening there.
The beaches were bitterly cold and I took a few shots there, but I didn't want to submit them. I liked the pictures, but felt they made this beautiful spot look a little too bleak with the deserted, frozen sand and icy shoreline.
So we headed across the park to the bird sanctuary where there is a long boardwalk out over a marsh filled with giant cattails, cedars and firs. A light snow began to fall and all was quiet.
Although I wouldn't consider this the best photo I took today, I hope it conveys the same feeling of peacefulness that we felt on the marsh this afternoon. Wishing you all a healthy and happy 2010.
