Patience (In Color)

by Jennifer Obyrne
(Minneapolis, MN)

Thought I would send you the colour version of "Patience" too. So people could see the difference!

Jennifer’s “Patience” was a photo submission from last month (technically, I know we’re still in January, but we’re starting February early!)

It was selected as one of the top three from last month (you can view the top three January submissions here).

It can also be found in the here, in the black and white photography submissions).

Jennifer's colour submission of the same photograph lit up a small lightbulb above my head . . . this gives us all the opportunity to compare a black and white photograph in its 'before' and 'after' state; hence its inclusion here again.

My personal feeling is that this photograph looks better in black and white - the colours tend to distract from the composition. But I would be interested to know what others think.

So . . . please have a look at both photos, and add your opinion in the box below.

Ed.

Love the photo!
by: João

The photo is very good, but I have to agree with Ed. The version in color has too much information, and taking this color out helps you concentrate on the subject, besides giving a more emotional look.

Thanks for posting the original color version. Congratz!

P.S.: Does "Ed." mean "editor?"
Yep, photo editor to be precise! - Ed.

I love both, and "color" and "B&W". but closer to my soul are color photos.
