Nikon Coolpix L4

Nikon Coolpix L4

Learn powerful photography techniques!

Purchased 2006 for $90.

Very so-so images!

Slow shutter-response and boot time, only 4 megapixels!

Dropped about 20 feet down a rocky slope into a puddle. End of camera.

The Nikon Coolpix L4 was launched in early 2006. It's 4 megapixels were par for the course back then, but now you'd be hard-pressed to buy a camera that has only 4 megapixels.

Some of its plus points were its metering system (it used 256 segment metering) and the user had control over some elements of the exposure.

To be honest I doubt whether many photographers made use of these functions. I suspect the vast majority stuck to the usual photo modes.

The one flaw in Nikon's design? They didn't design the camera to be able to withstand 20 foot drops down rocky slopes!

I hope that, despite breaking the camera at least the photos stored on the memory card survived!

Thanks for the submission,

Darrell.
