I took this picture after a rain in my father's garden.

I had read the flower photography tutorial, and thought I would try a different view.

If I had taken a picture of the lily with all of its petals, the shot would have included a lot of earth and weeds!!

I thought the centre of the flower was beautiful with the changes in colour and the pollen on the stamens.

I used my macro setting and cropped the shot slightly, but did not adjust the colour or contrast as I liked them as is.

My camera is a Nikon Coolpix P80, which is a real step above my HP point and shoot, and a nice in-between camera before I graduate to a DSLR (saving that for when I retire in 20 years!).
