A lone flower

by Nikolay
(Seattle, WA)

This is a crop (about 50% frame) of a flower I took on slopes of Mount Rainier in Washington. (Nikon D300, lens 18-200 VR up close).

The background of image was "tinted" - decolorized a bit to have the main subject (the flower) stand out.

The flower itself was enhanced by adding "vibrance" in PhotoShop.

I used magic wand to select parts of image and then apply coloring tools. Some contrasting was added by using "levels" or "curves" tool.

The picture is then sized down to have web-dimensions and sharpened a bit using "Unsharp mask".

Still, the picture lacks some personality?

What can be done to improve it?

Thanks,
Nikolay
